Queridos familia y amigos:

Donald

We are preparing as best we can for this Category 4 hurricane. Good thing last week I was able to fix my little generator that has been with me for 16 years. I changed the carburettor, which cost me $ 20 and is worth a million. The 3 gallon tank lasts 11 hours and I have gas for three days, which is usually enough. The refrigerator, five light points, the TV and a small window air conditioner that I have can work with it, which cools well. The problem comes if the electricity goes out for more than three or four days.

These days, the heat is so hot that you can't stand it without the air conditioning. If there are no major problems with the electricity blackout and it lasts less than four days, we can safely stay here at home. We are in a high place so the flood is not a problem. The worst thing is that we are surrounded by beautiful trees and the branches are broken and blown everywhere.

With this in 30 years that we have been living in our little house, there will be five hurricanes that we have suffered in Baton Rouge. Twice we had to go to Houston.

Donald
